Camille Muffat (born October 28, 1989 in Nice, France) is a French swimmer and is a three-time Olympic medalist. At the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, she won gold in the 400-meter freestyle, silver in the 200-meter freestyle, and bronze in the 4×200-meter freestyle relay. She is the current world record holder in the 400- and 800-meter freestyle (short course).2008 - 2011 At the 2008 French national championships, she and Joanne Andraca tied in the 400 m individual medley (IM) in a new French record of 4:38.23. At the 2009 French national championships, she set a new French record in the 200 m IM (2:09.34). At the 2008 Summer Olympics, she qualified to enter three events - the 200m individual medley, the 400m individual medley and the 4 × 200 m freestyle relay - but only qualified for the final of the relay (the team finished fifth).2012 - present At the 2012 Summer Olympics, she qualified to enter three events. She won the gold medal in the 400 m freestyle with a new Olympic record, as well as the silver medal in the 200 m freestyle event. Also, her 4x200 m freestyle team won the bronze medal in a time of 7:47.49. .
